Set up Swifties — Taylor Swift could be this season’s Super Bowl halftime show act… at least that’s what the musician’s fans are thinking after the NFL appeared to give a big clue into it Thursday night.
Here’s the deal — in May, Pepsi pulled out of its long-standing partnership with the league and the Big Game halftime show… and Thursday night, the NFL announced it’s finally replaced the soft drink company with Apple Music as its new sponsor.
In the announcement, the league made no mention of a potential halftime performer for Super Bowl LVII… but Swift fans said it wasn’t necessary – because the timing of the release said it all.
The league oddly dropped the news at midnight – something that has been associated with Swift for YEARS. She has released albums twice since 2020, and she has sung the word “midnight” in her songs hundreds of times.
Swift also plans to release a new album next month… titled “Midnights.”
Taylor has never done an SB show before — many thought she wouldn’t take the gig because she was locked into a sponsorship deal with Pepsi’s biggest competitor, Coca-Cola.
However, now that Apple Music is in, it looks like Swift would be free and clear to carry “Shake It Off” to millions of people during the Super Bowl break on Feb. 12 without a hitch.
The NFL has yet to confirm or deny the rumors – we’ve been in touch for comment, but so far no response.
