Kate Middleton settles into her new role as the Princess of Wales with some seriously chic style.
Marking King Charles IIIDuring her first state visit as monarch, the 40-year-old joined her husband prince william in welcoming the President of South Africa at the Horse Guards Parade in London.
For the ceremonial event on Nov. 22, Kate opted for an ultra-regal plum coat dress from one of her favorite British designers Emily Wicksteadcomplete with matching hat, pointed-toe suede pumps and some extra special jewellery.
As well as wearing a set of diamond and pearl earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law princess Dianaattracted the royal Queen Alexandra‘s famous Three Feathers brooch, featuring the Prince of Wales’s feather crest, as featured on the website The court jeweler.
The brooch, consisting of diamonds and rubies with an emerald pendant, dates from 1863 when it was presented to Queen Alexandra on her wedding to King Edward VII, who was then the Prince of Wales, the website reports. More recently, the sparkler was worn several times by Diana until her death in 1997 and Queen consort Camilla starting in the 2000s.
