COVID-19: Five deaths and 15 hospitalizations reported in Halton

The Halton region has transitioned to COVID-19 updates once a week.

The latest COVID-19 statistics from the Halton region show five additional deaths in total. Three of the dead were residents of Burlington, bringing the city’s death toll to 172. The other two deaths were attributed to Oakville, giving the city a total of 127 deaths. Milton remains at 75 total deaths. Halton Hills remains at 72 dead in total. Halton now stands at 446 deaths from COVID-19.

There are 137 new cases in Halton. The total number of cases is up to 56,182. There have been a total of 1,598 hospitalizations in Halton and 446 deaths.

In Milton we had 21 new cases. That brings us to 14,621 cases. There have been a total of 358 hospitalizations in Milton and 75 deaths.

There are currently two outbreaks reported in Milton:

  • Allendale Long Term Care Home – Halton House
  • Living together 165

Looking at the vaccination numbers, a total of 1,500,147 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,338,200 of the doses were for residents of Halton.

Here’s a breakdown of the ages of those receiving doses:

  • A total of 5,003 doses have been administered to people <5 years of age;
  • A total of 73,981 doses have been administered to people ages 5-11;
  • A total of 110,445 doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
  • A total of 112,926 doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
  • A total of 72,757 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
  • A total of 86,031 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
  • A total of 101,238 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
  • A total of 109,312 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
  • A total of 115,739 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
  • A total of 119,191 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
  • A total of 116,774 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
  • A total of 109,320 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
  • A total of 97,617 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
  • A total of 91,605 doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
  • A total of 73,700 doses have been administered to people aged 75-79; and,
  • A total of 104,508 doses have been administered to people aged 80+.

The following is where the vaccine doses were administered:

  • 456,829 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physician offices;
  • 36,402 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
  • A total of 1,006,916 doses have been administered through community and hospital clinics.
