Bryce Dallas Howard revealed that during her role in the… Jurassic World franchise – because GOD FORBID someone who isn’t size 0 in a movie with LITERALLY DINOSAURS.
In conversation with Metro about her role in Jurassic World: Dominion could mean for the representation of women in action films, she explained: “What is allowed in this third film – how do I say this, how do I say this, how do I say this…[I’ve] asked not to use my natural body in the cinema.”
Bryce even said director Colin Trevorrow should defend her. “On the third film, it was basically because so many women were cast, it was something Colin thought very strongly in terms of protecting me,” she continued. “The conversation came up again, ‘We need to ask Bryce to lose weight.'”
She continued: “He said, ‘There are many different kinds of women on this planet, and there are many different kinds of women in our movie,’ and I had to do so many stunts that wouldn’t have been possible if I had been on a diet.”
Bryce added: “So I’m very happy [at] all the action I have to do, and I have to do it with my body. She was at her maximum strength and I hope it’s another indication of what’s possible.”
This comes a month after Bryce revealed she was paid “so much less” than her male co-star Chris Pratt for her role in the franchise. “When I Started Negotiating For” Jura-, it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a big disadvantage. And unfortunately you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are closed,” she explained.
Bryce has also been candid about buying her own red carpet dresses before, as many designer outfits — what you normally see celebs wearing at events — don’t go up to a size 6. options for a size 6 as opposed to maybe one option,” she said in 2016.
